Official name change announcement

June 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Firstly, happy Father’s Day! It’s nice to have a day that commerates the hard working Fathers, such as Father Bloopy. Of course, all good things to end, and this week Father Bloopy was hard at work announcing its official name change to Ex Norwegian.

While many listeners have expressed some outrage over this decision, it is stressed that it was purely a business decision that was inspired by the bad reviews generated by the press.

“It was a name that was associated with me and therefore was the one used for Ginger, Baby when it was being prepared for release. It was actually quite lazy of me; simply not wanting to do the hunt for a much more suitable name that can compliment the music better. Now I think we got something better, and marketable, that won’t piss off the reviewers!” commented Roger Houdaille, founder and songwriter for Father Bloopy…erm, the band that was once known as Father Bloopy.

The new band has a new MySpace and website and changes to other music sites, such as ReverbNation, will be transforming themselves to only represent Ex Norwegian. The FatherBloopy.com, Facebook & MySpace pages will remain intact and support for the Ginger, Baby album will still continue.

Meanwhile, the decision to change the name happened now, to coincide with the release of new music from the band. The first recording as Ex Norwegian: Something Unreal, can be heard on MySpace, FaceBook & ReverbNation pages.
